Is It Over Yet?  - Thursday, December 10; 10 - 11 am

2020’s crises have made us more anxious, depressed, stressed out, and lonelier than ever before.

Self-care is more than taking a walk or watching a video of puppies; it involves creating an environment that fosters emotional, mental, physical, and social health.

Tracey’s training will get you back to the basics of mindfulness and distress tolerance, so we can help each other get through these unprecedented times.

Presenter: Tracey Masella, LCSW

Tracey Masella comes to the field of clinical social work following a career in academic publishing.  She graduated from Marquette University in 1986 and worked with Prentice Hall Publishing and the New School University before taking a brief hiatus to raise her two children.  Tracey returned to the New School University as a program manager on the non-profit Journal Donation Project, and working on this project inspired Ms. Masella to seek a graduate degree in social work.  Tracey graduated from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, earning the Dr. Edward L. Curran award for highest achievement in academics, practical experience, and school service.  During her time at Fordham, Ms. Masella worked at the New Haven Family Alliance developing an adolescent court diversion program, working with adolescents and families in the community through mediation, family therapy, and case management.

Ms. Masella was part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT for ten years; she is currently working as a community outreach consultant for the hospital.  While at Silver Hill, Tracey has worked with adults and adolescents with a full range of diagnoses, including substance use disorders, personality disorders, and mood disorders.  Most recently, Tracey was the Program Manager for the Adolescent Transitional Living Program at Silver Hill.  Ms. Masella is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and has been trained in both Internal Family Systems with Richard Schwartz and Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) with Anthony Bateman.  She has a private practice in Wilton, CT.

Tracey serves as the Board Chairperson of Medical Relief Alliance, a non-profit organization working with women in Kenya who are affected by HIV/AIDS by offering medical help, education, and a micro-finance program.
